Fotini is a psychologist, a graduate of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. She is also a trainee psychotherapist in Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy and Counseling at UCLAN University in the UK. She works as a psychologist in a public social services agency, conducting sessions with adults, couples, and adolescents, and, as part of a criminal mediation program, sessions with perpetrators of domestic violence. She also provides counseling to caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. At the same time, she is a member of an interdisciplinary team focused on children’s mental health and gives talks on a wide range of mental health topics. She places particular importance on creating a therapeutic relationship that fosters growth for both the client and the therapist. Recognizing the uniqueness of every individual, she believes that within an environment of genuineness, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance, everyone can gain autonomy and manage and resolve their own difficulties.
