Dimitris Alexopoulos holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Department of Psychology at the University of Crete and is licensed to practice. He holds a master’s degree in Sports Psychology (MSc in “Psychology of Physical Education and Sports,” University of Thessaly), and is currently undergoing training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the four-year program of the Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Studies (IETHS). She has completed postgraduate training in the School Psychology Program at the University of the Aegean, has specialised in Organisational Psychology through the postgraduate program "Human Resources Management and Organisational Analysis," at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and has also completed a one-year psychotherapy training program in Gestalt Therapy at the Gestalt Foundation. At the same time, to enhance his professional training and broaden his knowledge in the field, he has participated in numerous seminars. Some of these include "The Social Reintegration of Minors and Young Offenders - Epanodos," "4th Panhellenic Conference on Forensic Psychiatry, Hellenic Society of Forensic Psychiatry," "Dialogues on the Negative (Galenos Institute of Mental Health and Personal Development)," "7th Panhellenic Conference on Counseling Psychology (University of Thessaly)," "10th Panhellenic Child Psychiatry Conference: The Child and the Adolescent in a Changing World: An Interdisciplinary Approach, Hellenic Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry."
Regarding his professional experience, he has collaborated for many years with counselling centers and organisations, where he provides individual psychotherapy and counseling services. At the same time, he collaborates with fitness centers, where he organizes seminars, events, and workshops on the connection between mental health and sports. She also collaborates with schools, where she delivers talks aimed at teachers, parents, and students on contemporary issues within the school community. In the past, she has collaborated with a social reintegration program, where she provided psychotherapeutic support to ex-offenders in their efforts toward social reintegration.
Her primary focus is on empathy toward the client, active listening and understanding of their needs, and the gradual establishment of a healthy therapeutic relationship, with trust as its foundation. Thus, through guidance in techniques for managing emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, they can work toward the client’s mental health and well-being.
