Welcome. My name is Christina Savva. Allow me to share my educational background and professional experience with you. Education I graduated from the Department of Psychology at the University of Ioannina in 2021. I continued my specialization by completing the program “Counseling Skills in the Field of Substance Abuse: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude in Professional Practice” at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego, in collaboration with KETHEA. I received the title of “Addiction Counselor,” where I received theoretical and clinical training in the treatment of individuals with addiction issues. I then began my training as a Systemic Psychotherapist at the “Athens Center for the Study of Man” (AKMA), where I have completed the third year of my six-year training program. I have specialized in group, couple, and family therapy, which I apply in my professional practice. At the same time, I am completing the master’s program “Applications of Psychology” at the Department of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Professional Experience Since 2020, alongside my studies, I have worked at the Open Therapeutic Community of “KETHEA EPIRUS,” with adults and groups of individuals facing addiction issues. My goal was to provide psychological support and facilitate the social integration of the beneficiaries. The field of addiction has always been a sensitive social issue for me, which is what motivated me to choose this organisation for my internship. Currently, I work in a unit that provides medical and psychosocial services to residents of Reception and Identification Centers, under the auspices of the “Athens Medical Group.” I conduct clinical assessments, write psychosocial reports, and coordinate with relevant services when necessary. Additionally, I provide psychotherapy to adults and adolescents, conducting both group and individual sessions. Finally, I have attended numerous seminars on mental health conditions such as anxiety, panic attacks, grief, and trauma, with the aim of continuously updating my knowledge and improving my skills in conducting therapeutic sessions. “Psychotherapy is a co-evolutionary journey where we learn from one another and become more present.”
